Discover the ecological history and natural wonders of New York Harbor on this tour from Manhattan to the lush wetlands of Jamaica Bay. See the natural and commercial history unfold at sites like the Statue of Liberty, Governors, Hoffman and Swinburne Islands and learn from park rangers onboard, about the many bird, fish and animal species on the harbor.
This three-hour tour features audio written and narrated by former New York Times reporter Tom Zeller Jr., commentary by national park rangers, authors Mark Kurlansky and Eric Sanderson, as well as a live national park ranger tour of the Jamaica Bay marshes, where peregrine falcons, pigeon-hunting osprey and other wildlife make their home.
