Black History Month: Harriet Tubman

Discuss the remarkable Harriet Tubman with Dr. Deidre Cooper-Owens of Queens College/CUNY.  Explore Tubman’s role in leading scores of enslaved African Americans from the South to freedom in the North and Canada and her time as a spy for the Union Army.  Dr. Cooper-Owens is the author of many books, including the upcoming Medical Bondage: Race, Gender, and the Origins of American Gynecology.
