Join the Burial Ground and the African American Pinkster Committee of New York (AAPCNY) for this commemorative celebration, including the pouring of libation, lectures, performances and a laying of wreaths at the memorial.
Pinkster is an African American religious holiday celebrating the advent of Spring. Derived from the Dutch word “Pinksteren” meaning Pentecost (Seventh Sunday after Easter), the African influences are attributed to the Bantu regions of Congo and Angola.
